Yesterday, Russia Insider published aerial video footage of the utter devastation of Sergei Prokoviev International Airport at Donetsk caused by months of shelling by the Ukraine armed forces and its allied, extreme-right militias. The video was shot by a Ukrainian activist group using a drone copter. It provides a birds-eye view of the ruins of the airport buildings and airplanes as well as views of ruined armoured vehicles.

After months of siege and fighting, Donetsk self-defense forces took full control of the airport on January 15 from the extreme-right militias that had been occupying sections of it. During the months-long battle for the airport, Ukraine forces routinely shelled the residential neighbourhoods that surround it. This latter side of the story has been entirely censored from publication in Western mainstream media.
