Professor Radhika Desai from University of Manitoba shares her views on China’s development path, its unique practice of democracy and the China-U.S. relationship when she spoke to CGTN Radio reporter Xu Yawen.

Desai pointed out that Western countries benefited from imperialism and its vast colonies, while China had none of this. China has developed without the benefit of imperialism and was even a target of imperialism. “China is not trying to be a model, but there is a lot in China’s experience that third world countries today and other countries can learn from,” Desai said.
