Andrei Karlov, Russian ambassador to Turkey, murdered by a right-wing Turkish police officer in Ankara on Dec 19, 2016

We harshly condemn the murder of Russian ambassador Andrei Karlov, and we express our deepest sorrow. We extend our condolences to his family and to the people of Russia.

This political murder has also demonstrated that Turkey is unfortunately no longer a secure country due to the recent domestic and international policies.

Thus, shallow and manipulative inferences must be left aside and those responsible for this political murder, and its instigators and supporters must be promptly determined with a thorough investigation and all must be held accountable before justice.

Other recent statement by People’s Democratic Party:

The vortex of violence drags the country into turmoil

This time, a blast in Kayseri resulted in many deaths and injuries.[1] We condemn this attack in the strongest terms. We would like to express our condolences for the deceased and wish a fast recovery to the wounded, and our deepest sympathy for the families. We are deeply saddened by the vortex of violence Turkey is gradually dragged into, and we share sympathy for the pain.

We have long passed the stage of settling with messages of condemnation. We all must stand together for peace, democracy, justice and freedom against violence, to end this pain and prevent new tragedies from happening.

We can overcome these troubled times by being in solidarity, improving conditions and encouraging peace in the country.  This is the first step of putting an end to this turmoil without losing our hopes.

Our call is towards ending the politics, tone and language that creates tension, polarization, hostility, chaos and conflict both in terms of internal and foreign affairs.

Once again, we would like to express our condolences for the deceased and wish a fast recovery to the wounded, and our deepest sympathy for the families.
