Aleksey Mozgovoy is the commander of one of the self-defense brigades in the Luhansk Peoples Republic. He leads the Prizrak (‘Ghost’) Brigade of self-defense fighters.
What is the social and economic program of the peoples republics of Luhansk and neighbouring Donetsk? Not a lot of attention has been paid to this topic by writers outside of Russia. It’s a subject that deserves more attention.
In the following, six minute video statement, Aleksey Mozgovoy outlines his strong social and pro-socialist outlook for the peoples republics and, indeed, for all of Ukraine. The statemetn is sub-titled in English.
Aleksey Mozgovoy was the target of an internet fraud by pro-Ukraine forces last October when he was falsely accused of advocating that women’s place in modern society is in the home, not in the public sphere. The story was concocted after Mozgovoy testified at a trial of a man accused of sexual assault. He mocked and condemned the idea that a woman’s dress or conduct in a public setting would ever be construed as an invitation to sexual aggression.
