COUP 53 is a long awaited feature documentary by Director Taghi Amirani and Editor Walter Murch. The film is about the 1953 Anglo-American coup in Iran and the overthrow of Mossadegh.

The film COUP 53 has been nine years in the making. Shot in nine countries, it features an impressive cast of eye witnesses and participants directly involved in the coup. It also uses remarkable archive footage, audio tapes and documents and is interwoven with innovative oil painting animation.
